Globo affiliate is owned by Boni, former head of the Rio de Janeiro broadcaster.
According to information from a presenter, TV Globo's affiliate in Vale do Paraíba, Rede Vanguarda, is for sale. It is worth mentioning that the channel is known for winning awards as a reference among affiliates. However, its days may be numbered.
Owned by José Bonifácio de Oliveira Sobrinho, known as Boni, the asking price for the sale is 300 million reais. The subject of the sale of the TV Globo affiliate came up during a live broadcast on the YouTube channel of Band Vale presenter Abel Freitas.
He is a sort of Leo Dias in the region, and tells the behind-the-scenes story of local TV and celebrities. “Boni wants to rest and Boninho said he doesn’t want Vanguarda. He doesn’t want to take care of it. And then they decided to sell it. How much does it cost? R$300 million!” he said.

ALREADY INTERESTED
Soon after, the presenter said that Globo in Vale do Paraíba already had interest: “I found out that Manoel Conde [owner of the pharmacy chain Farma Conde] gathered a group of businessmen to buy Vanguarda, but whoever buys it doesn’t mean that Globo will want it as an affiliate. […] A businessman wants to buy Vanguarda in Taubaté and turn it into RedeTV!”
It is worth noting that the aforementioned pharmacy chain was already mentioned in a tax evasion scandal reported by Fantástico. At the time, Manoel Conde Neto reported the scheme that included other large companies in the sector.
