On Monday (15), the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Gilmar Mendes said that Operation Lava Jato “supported the election of Jair Bolsonaro”, “tried to interfere” in the electoral result and “acted to disturb the country” during the administration of Michel Temer.
The statements were made in an interview with BBC News Brasil.
“Lava Jato had a candidate and a program in the electoral process,” said Gilmar.

“First, Lava Jato works to arrest Lula. Just before the election, Lava Jato releases Palocci’s so-called testimony or plea bargain, trying to influence the electoral process. Then, Moro joins the Bolsonaro government, so they not only support it but later become part of the Bolsonaro government,” he explained.
