The decision by Minister Marco Aurélio Mello, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), to release drug trafficker André do Rap was based on a request presented by the office of a lawyer who was an advisor to the magistrate's office until the beginning of the year.
The information was confirmed by a report from Rádio BandNews FM. The former advisor is Eduardo Ubaldo Barbosa, one of the partners at the Ubaldo Barbosa Advogados law firm, based in Brasília.
However, the request is not signed by Eduardo, but by lawyer Ana Luísa Gonçalves Rocha, his partner. In February, the defender posted a farewell message online and thanked him for his two years of experience in Marco Aurélio's office.
At the time, he wrote: “After two years of extremely rich learning, I say goodbye to my colleagues who made this period at the Supreme Court more than just a professional experience.”
