Congressman Júnior Mano (PL-CE) proposed a bill that not only PROHIBITS the use of the National Flag in political demonstrations, but also subjects anyone who uses it to a FINE.
Will you only be able to use the flags of Cuba and the Soviet Union in demonstrations?
Mano's proposal was presented to the Chamber on Tuesday, the 5th, at 6:12 pm. The text was transformed into Bill 2417/2020. The text has clear objectives when proposing the amendment of article 10 of Law No. 5,700. If approved, it will come into force with a wording on the use of the National Flag.

Article 35 of Law 5,700 subjects the offender “to a fine of one to four times the highest reference value in force in the country, doubled in cases of repeat offenses.” In other words, if Bill 2417/2020 is approved in its current text by the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, it will not only prohibit the use of the flag, but will also financially penalize those who do so.
