The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) will increase the prize money for the 2022 Copa do Brasil, according to Jornal 316. The decision has already been made by Ednaldo Rodrigues, interim president of the CBF, together with the entity's board of directors. All that remains is to define the amounts. The team that lifted the trophy in the last edition was Atlético Mineiro.
In the 2021 Copa do Brasil games, champion Atlético Mineiro earned around R$72 million. The Copa do Brasil draw is approaching this year, and the Copa do Brasil positions and table will still be finalized.
Bahia, the 2021 Copa do Nordeste champion, will only enter the third phase. The same applies to the participants of the Libertadores and Pre-Libertadores, the Copa Verde champion and the Série B champion.
Vitória, Juazeirense, Atlético de Alagoinhas and Bahia de Feira are in Group 3. In the 2021 Copa do Brasil, each team in this group received R$560,000 in the first phase. The trend is that it will be readjusted to just over R$600,000.
