Folha de S. Paulo reported that Minister Gilmar Mendes, of the STF, sent [in recent days] to some parliamentarians the draft of a proposed Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) that transforms the Brazilian regime into a semi-presidential system, in which the president would have his functions, but just like in parliamentarism, the powers of the Executive would be shared with the figure of a prime minister.
Gilmar is the author of a draft written in 2017. According to the article, the text was a response to those who asked for ideas on what to do in this time of crisis, given President Bolsonaro's ineptitude.
Gilmar Mendes also reportedly told parliamentarians that the proposal would be for future terms… but… you never know, right?
