On Wednesday (15), President Jair Bolsonaro, during his departure from the Planalto Palace, commented on the controversial electoral fund, which more recently received the better-known name of 'fundão'. The Head of State stated emphatically that in the event of his reelection, his new party – Aliança pelo Brasil – will not use this money.
“If I am reelected, obviously, there will be no fund,” he said.
Furthermore, Jair also spoke about his new party and the municipal elections that will take place this year. According to him, the Alliance will only participate in the dispute if it has its own candidates.
“If my party doesn’t have a candidate, my party won’t get involved in municipal electoral issues,” he said.
On the occasion, the president also thanked the citizens who have been joining the new party, which has helped in its creation, but he stressed that he probably will not be able to travel around the country looking for support.
“I thank everyone who is offering to join the party. I will not be traveling around Brazil, I do not know if I will be in Brasília for the national convention.”
