Brazil is witnessing an unprecedented electoral phenomenon. The experimentation with new politics in the country in the 2018 election revealed that the Brazilian people are seeking to break the hegemony of the oligarchies and traditional families that have dominated the political field since the country's redemocratization.
This national trend tends to undergo osmosis towards the municipalist sphere, mainly with regard to the renewal of the house of laws, known as the City Council. After the national movement that gained popular strength as a new policy, the old policy seems to have reached the end of its validity period.
In the city of Caxias, it is no different. The overwhelming movement of this surprising democratic face has introduced new names, and a young demographic is consolidating itself in the political field. A good practical example of this is the young political leader of the city of Caxias and the region, Antônio Lucas Lima de Oliveira, who has actively participated in this movement of new politics and has been working behind the scenes on the possibility of launching his name for popular appreciation in 2020 for the position of councilor.
Lucas is a graduate in civil engineering (UniFacema) and mathematics (UFMA), from Caxias, lives on his family's property near the Caldeirões neighborhood where he has worked in several areas, currently working as a youth supervisor in the city of Caxias-Ma.
He is an activist in the youth area, collaborating in the Social Pre-Enem Project, with more than 800 young people enrolled and a large number of people succeeding in the entrance exams.
Lucas is part of the political oxygenation that has spread throughout the country in recent years, and intends to break the wheel of old politics, introducing good practices and fulfilling the effective role of councilor, which is to monitor the executive and exclusively represent the collective interests of society.
Which, by the way, has been lacking in the current city councilors….
