The air brigadier Augusto Cesar Abreu dos Santos, commander of Wing 5 of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), presided over the aircraft incorporation ceremony last Sunday (24) to the 2nd/10th Aviation Group, Pelican Squadron in Campo Grande (MS) with bath and presentation of the crew according to the FAB.
“It is a very important moment for the Brazilian Air Force to be able to incorporate into its collection yet another aircraft that is one of the most modern platforms to be used in the noble mission of saving lives” said the Brigadier.

The aircraft, which was named FAB 6551, features the novelty of the In-Flight Refueling System (REVO), also featuring a electro-optical system capable of performing image search through the infrared light spectrum, making it possible to detect, through heat, an aircraft that has crashed at night or a person at sea.
Furthermore, the FAB 6551 is “equipped” with two 3,058 hp Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127G enginesand Hamilton Standard 586-F six-blade reversible-pitch propellers.
