Those convicted by the Court who are in the open, semi-open regime or on parole will be entitled to free bus tickets in the city of Fortaleza. The Court of Justice of Ceará states that the law delimits the number of convicts and only applies to criminals who are part of the Um Novo Tempo Program, points out the G1 Portal.
The decision was taken last Wednesday (4), after signing an agreement between the presidents of the TJCE and the Union of Passenger Transport Companies of Ceará (Sindiônibus). It was not announced when the measure will come into force and those convicted will have this benefit.
According to the TJCE, free transportation is only provided for traveling from the residence to the location where the educational rehabilitation activities promoted by the program take place to encourage the resocialization of offenders.
The TJCE also explains that, currently, only 30 people meet the profile required by the agreement and, therefore, receive free transport assistance. They are part of a group of 250 inmates, who are part of the 'Um Novo Tempo' program
