The defense of former prisoner Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) had the audacity to reaffirm today its plan to annul the lawsuit regarding the Atibaia (SP) farm, and called the entire process a “legal farce”. The request was delivered today to the three judges of the 8th Panel of the TRF-4 (Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region), who will judge the case in the second instance tomorrow, the 27th.
The former inmate's defense claims that his client “never requested or ever accepted, much less received, directly or indirectly, for himself or for others, and in no way possible or imaginable, any undue advantages.”
According to the defense attorneys of the PT member convicted in another case, the Lava Jato accusation against Lula is a “legal farce,” because, according to them, the “linking of the [Petrobras] contracts to the Atibaia site is artificial and random,” and the Attorney General’s Office only wanted to “impress public opinion.” Now, the defense has gone to the TRF-4 to cry. Let’s see, then, what the court’s reaction to this red drama will be.
