An unidentified man set fire to a bus with 10 passengers on Thursday (25), in front of the Planalto Palace. Witnesses said he was shouting “Bolsonaro out” at the time of the crime.

According to the vehicle's ticket collector, Deusilde Santana, a man entered the bus at the Plano Piloto bus station, 2.7 kilometers before the Executive headquarters, through the back door, with a crutch and a backpack.

Shortly before reaching Praça dos Três Poderes, the vehicle began to catch fire, with about ten occupants inside. A few meters later, in front of Planalto, the bus stopped and everyone got out.

A Military Police vehicle that was parked in Praça dos Três Poderes went to the scene and arrested the man, who was not identified and was taken to the 5th Police Station.

Inside the police car, he continued shouting against President Jair Bolsonaro, who had left Planalto about an hour earlier.

Three of the five lanes of the avenue in front of the government headquarters were closed. There were no reports of injuries.

Agents from the Institutional Security Office (GSI), responsible for presidential security, monitored everything from afar, within the confines of the palace.

The Federal District Military Police communications center said late in the afternoon that the first reports were of a mechanical failure (engine overheating).

Shortly afterwards, however, the PM changed the story, stating that a man “had spread gasoline inside the vehicle and then set it on fire”, getting out of the vehicle and shouting “out, Bolsonaro”.

– At the time, there were about 10 passengers in the vehicle and no one was injured. Later, the PM-DF was called and arrested the suspect. He was taken to the 5th DP to register the incident. The DF Fire Department was called and the fire was controlled – added the PM.
