Hotel Mais is located in the Santa Rita neighborhood, the region of the capital where the senator was born.
The most expensive daily rate at the location costs R$140 per day... the amount spent by Alcolumbre over the last few years would be enough to pay for 7,000 daily rates.
According to research by Época magazine, while Alcolumbre was still a deputy (from 2011 to 2014), he spent around R$594,000 and during his term as senator, from 2015 until now, it was more than R$312,000.
According to Época, around R$1,490,000 (of the expenses) were spent on car rental services, a service available at the hotel itself.
Thanks to a Senate rule, edited by Alcolumbre himself this year, the senator will not need to explain the reason for the expenses.
At the beginning of the year, when he was a candidate for the presidency of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre promised greater transparency regarding senators' expenses.
