The purchase of the “supercomputer” without a bidding process by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) may be targeted by investigative authorities. This week, federal deputy José Medeiros (Podemos-MT) sent a letter to the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU). The parliamentarian is asking for an investigation into the case, which involves a R$26.2 million contract with technology company Oracle do Brasil.
The deputy's request comes after the then acclaimed “supercomputer” presented problems.
Unforeseen event responsible for delay in the first round of vote counting throughout Brazil — a procedure led by the TSE, a body presided over by Luís Roberto Barroso. In its preliminary defense, the TSE praises Oracle. In a note, the Court states that the company is the only one to provide this type of data storage service in the country.

The contract, worth R$1,400,000,000, was published in the Official Gazette of the Union on March 25th of this year. The beneficiary is the company Oracle do Brasil.
According to BBC News Brasil, using the Siga Brasil tool, from the Federal Senate, R$19.5 million has already been committed — budgetary jargon for spending commitments.
