The new president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL) as well as the new president of the Senate Rodrigo Pacheco (DEM-MG), declared this Wednesday (3) that they will evaluate the release of emergency aid in a new format that can respect the public spending ceiling.
Lira and Pacheco, in a joint statement this morning, adopted the need to resume a form of aid during the Covid-19 outbreak in the country. Both also guaranteed that access to vaccines will also be a priority in both the Chamber and the Senate.

Both signed a joint declaration that will study the return of emergency aid for Brazilians, without compromising the public spending ceiling.
“The Federal Senate and the Chamber of Deputies declare that they will work together, harmoniously and collaboratively on all issues that can facilitate and help Brazilians in overcoming the drama of the pandemic, including, above all, the analysis of fiscal possibilities to, respecting the spending cap, evaluate alternatives to offer financial security through emergency aid”, says the document.

In addition, Lira and Pacheco highlighted other proposals that should advance in the legislative houses, which include PEC 186/2019, also known as the emergency PEC that creates fiscal adjustment mechanisms for the country, as well as the PEC of public funds and the PEC of the federative pact.
