The federal government sent a letter notifying states and municipalities that they must withdraw lawsuits related to the Covid-19 pandemic against the Union in order to receive aid.
The condition is provided for in the bill approved by the National Congress and sent to Planalto.
The relief project, which foresees the transfer of R$60 billion to states and municipalities, is still awaiting approval by Jair Bolsonaro.
“The purpose of this circular letter is to highlight that the State, Federal District or Municipality that has filed a lawsuit against the Union after March 20, 2020, having as a cause for the request, directly or indirectly, the Covid-19 pandemic, will be excluded from the financial aid,” the document pointed out. “To avoid this exclusion, it is necessary for the federative entity to waive the right on which the lawsuit is based within 10 (ten) days, counting from the date of publication of the complementary law, which is in the presidential sanction phase.”
Journalist Roberto Cabrini took the mask off opposition governors “Governors are robbing the people during the pandemic”.
Bolsonaro has yet another card to unmask his opponents, the corruption practiced by his opponents in the midst of a pandemic.
