According to the company, the vehicle represents “future concepts for mobility” and serves as a showcase for its products and technologies.
So far this has been the biggest surprise of the CES 2020: during his press conference this Monday (7) the CEO of Sony, Kenichiro Yoshida, announced the first car developed by the company, a electric sedan called Vision-S.

The Vision-S is equipped with an autonomous system consisting of 33 sensors installed inside and outside the car. These devices read the road and send the data to a central computer, which is effectively responsible for guiding the vehicle. The manufacturer reports that it already supplies this type of technology to Toyota and its luxury subsidiary, Lexus.
Since no one on board will need to worry about driving, the Sony Vision-S has a well-designed infotainment system. There is a high-fidelity 360 sound system and a panoramic screen that takes up almost the entire dashboard.
Will Sony make its own self-driving car?
At least for now, the brand's intention does not appear to be to enter the automobile market. The promotional material only mentions that the Vision-S “represents Sony's contribution to the future of mobility”.
