The project (PL) that could include in the Impeachment Law the provision of a crime of responsibility committed by ministers of the Supreme Federal Court must be analyzed this Wednesday (5) by the Constitution and Justice and Citizenship Committee (CCJ).
The Chamber's CCJ will discuss the impeachment of STF ministers today.
Judges of the Court who usurp the “powers of the Legislative Branch or the Executive Branch” will be subject to impeachment, the text of the measure determines.
If approved, the provision will also apply to judges in lower courts and courts. Authored by federal deputy Sóstenes Cavalcante (PSD-RJ) and 22 other parliamentarians, the bill was filed on March 16, 2016.
However, since then, little progress has been made due to the resistance it has faced in the House. The issue is dear to President Jair Bolsonaro, who supports the approval of the mechanism.
