A young woman was shot in the head last Saturday inside a restaurant in Goiás. The accused is 38 years old. According to the police, she is the main suspect in the murder of Ana Vitória Pereira, 19 years old. According to police chief Alessandra Castro, who is leading the investigation, the suspect who committed the crime showed up at the police station on Tuesday afternoon and confessed to having killed her husband's lover. The police investigations indicated that the young woman worked at the commercial establishment as an assistant and that the perpetrator liked her a lot and treated her very well.
According to witnesses, the suspect was helping the victim hold a housewarming party. However, as soon as she found out that the employee was having an affair with her husband, the woman became outraged. She called the victim to the restaurant with the excuse that she needed her help there. According to the police officer, the perpetrator asked if the young woman was having an affair with her husband. In response, the young woman said yes. In her statement, the accused alleged that the victim had verbally assaulted her with foul language.
She became enraged and grabbed her husband's gun and shot the young woman in the head. Ana Vitória died at the scene, before help even arrived. After committing the crime, the woman fled the scene, heading in an unknown direction until Tuesday, when she turned herself in to the police.
Alessandra reported that the suspect will be released from prison until the investigation into the case is concluded. She added that the suspect is cooperating with the investigation and that she handed over the weapon used in the crime to the police station. Finally, the police chief reported that the police have 30 days to conclude the investigation.
