After a year dominated by the economic debate in Congress and marked by some defeats on issues of interest to the "bala" caucus, members of the Public Security Parliamentary Front, the group's official name, decided to focus their efforts on three axes in 2020: the approval of the Proposed Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) that deals with imprisonment after a second instance decision; the review of the Code of Criminal Procedure; and the progress of a proposal that deals with the careers of civil and military police officers.

Outside of the list, the easing of access to weapons will also mobilize the group. Today, the first decree issued by President Jair Bolsonaro on the subject completes one year. According to O Globo.

To achieve these objectives, the bala caucus seeks to work more closely with the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Sergio Moro, in this second year of the legislature.

On the one hand, parliamentarians benefit from the popularity of Moro — the public figure that Brazilians trust the most, according to a recent Datafolha survey.
