After Culture Secretary Roberto Alvim was fired for paraphrasing Nazi Germany's propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels, philosopher Olavo de Carvalho says that “Alvim's speech does not, in itself, have any Nazi or racist content.” Furthermore, Bolsonaro's ideological guru claims that the secretary was deceived by some “rogue” and “leftist” employee.
Olavo also says that the employee who did this was responsible for warning the journalists “who, rubbing his hands with pleasure, gave Alvim the coup de grace. Question this journalist and you will end up knowing where the whole thing came from,” wrote the philosopher.
Olavo says that Alvim’s case should serve as a warning to future occupants of the position. “Don’t trust leftist employees. They are disloyal by obligation,” says Olavo.
