A knife attack marked the morning of Parisians this Friday (25). Four people were hit, two of whom are in serious condition. The attack occurred about 100 meters from the former address of the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, on rue Nicolas-Appert, near Place de la Bastille.
A suspect has been detained by security authorities, but the motive for the crime is still unknown. For security reasons, the perimeter of the area where the attack took place has been cordoned off due to a suspicious package left on the street. Local schools have also closed their doors and are keeping students confined. Two other people suspected of participating in the crime are on the run.
In 2015, the Charlie Hebdo offices were raided and 12 of its employees were killed by members of Al-Qaeda. The latest attack occurred at a time when the country is trying 11 people accused of complicity in the attack on the newspaper.
