Military Police Officer Gabriel Luz Monteiro lost his right to carry a weapon and his right to a police ID after becoming involved in a controversy with Colonel Ibis Silva Pereira, who was the commander-in-chief of the Military Police in 2014. Gabriel is also at risk of being expelled from the Military Police. Last Thursday (05/03) the soldier posted a video reporting on his situation, where he stated that he is being threatened by factions in Rio de Janeiro and is unprotected.

The decision against the police officer, who is also a YouTuber, was announced in the corporation's internal bulletin on Wednesday (04). The soldier responded to an investigation by the Military Police for treating the colonel "in a disrespectful manner, on at least two occasions, as reported. This Friday (06), the agent met with the Federal Deputy of Rio, Otoni de Paula, who announced that Gabriel will go to Brasília next Tuesday (10) to participate in a hearing with some parliamentarians and will also go to a meeting with President Jair Bolsonaro.

The case gained even more traction on social media and had repercussions throughout Brazil. The SWAT instructor and Senator of the Republic for the state of Espírito Santo filed a request with the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Sérgio Moro, where he requested the protection and physical integrity of the PM. In response, according to the Senator, Moro's advisors have already contacted the Federal Police of Rio de Janeiro.
