The Federal Supreme Court (STF) began analyzing, through the Virtual Plenary last Friday, the request to annul the impeachment of former president Dilma Rousseff (PT), removed from office in August 2016.

Former Justice Minister José Eduardo Cardozo, who represents the PT member in the case, asked the ministers, at the end of last year, for the case to be judged by the plenary.

However, the rapporteur of the security warrants, Alexandre Moraes, denied the request and began the virtual trial.

In this way, the ministers do not meet in person to debate the matter, they simply present their votes in the court's electronic system.

The vote ends on Thursday and so far, the rapporteur was the only one to vote. Alexandre de Moraes denied the annulment of the impeachment.

The annulment of the impeachment would not return Dilma to the Presidency, but the defense considers the trial essential to end the debate on the political rights of the PT member. The information is from Valor Econômico.
